Trump ordered every federal agency to stop using Anthropic after the AI company refused to give the Pentagon unrestricted access ā no mass surveillance, no autonomous weapons. The Pentagon declared Anthropic a supply chain risk ā the first time a US company has ever received that label. Hours later, OpenAI stepped in with a Pentagon deal and announced an $840B valuation. One company said no and got blacklisted. The other said yes and became the most valuable startup in history. The government is now picking winners in the AI race.
